Northern Wisconsin is a mystical land of Indian legend, from the mighty logging exploits to the beautiful recreational area it is today. This is a country once covered by a glacier ice sheet that came down from Canada. When the last ice age retreated 12,000 years ago, it left many depressions which filled with water and became the large number of lakes and swamps found throughout the area.
