Moboevo looks to bring next generation transportation to Lake Country

OCONOMOWOC — Co-founders Dan Hutter and Mark Radler are looking to change the way people get around Oconomowoc, either to bike around the lakes or to maneuver the lakes themselves, with their new company Moboevo, 127 N. Main St.
The three of them are working together to offer citizens and tourists alike a new way to move, by offering electric bikes as well electric paddleboards to go around Lake Country, for rent and for sale.
“We are collaborating with next-gen innovators that are changing the way people move,” Dan Hutter said. “For example a company like Vintage Electric, it takes an old classic look of a bike and puts an electric motor on it and creates a comfortable riding experience.”
Moboevo’s lines of bikes all look like bikes and most can ride just as normal bikes as well. However, they come equipped with an electric motor that helps the rider.
“People can take an electric bike and use it as a utility and take it to work and use it as alternative mode of transportation,” Hutter said. “They can use it to be more healthy or to keep up with their kids.”
The bikes take about two hours to charge and depending on the rider, can go for upward of 50 miles on a single charge, Hutter said.
For all intents and purposes the bikes operates the same as a regular old pedal bike. The rider pedals, the bike moves. The kick comes in when the rider wants to up how much the electric motor assists the ride.
For most bikes there are five levels of assistance, ranging from an eco mode that gives the rider a little extra push, to a high mode that does most of the work for the rider and reaches around 20 mph.
Hutter said the biggest thing he wants people to do is to come try the bikes out.
“What we are about is experience and the experience comes in when you ride the bike and when you get on the water,” Hutter said.
Moboevo will be having demonstrations for people to try out the bikes at the Village Green on April 18 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
